Our story
A story woven between Nantes and Vietnam
In the beginning, there were two childhood friends from Nantes, a love of travel and a shared fascination for objects that tell a story.
In Vietnam, they meet weaving craftswomen who explain how hard it is to make a living from this ancestral craft, and how often the value of their work is underestimated.
The threads of our story
Launching the project
In February 2016, when these two childhood friends were reunited, the idea was born for a unique Vietnamese-inspired sneaker, made in a fair and traditional way. It was their way of proving that you can produce in Vietnam responsibly, respecting human and labour rights. It’s also a tribute Ronan pays to the country that has always welcomed him.
To bring the project to life, Ronan returns to the country close to his heart, Vietnam, to meet the craftswomen who keep their ancestral know-how alive. He also forges the first ties with local partners.
The idea is launched
The breakthrough
One year — that’s how long it took to develop the first 5 pairs of N’go. April 2017 marked the culmination of all those efforts. The two friends launched a crowdfunding campaign to fund their very first production of shoes! The campaign was a real success, putting the N’go adventure firmly on track.
Going further
First carbon assessment, launch of the Second Life programme and arrival of the Ho Tay collection: the brand starts to look more closely at what it produces, what it ships and what it can improve.
A new thread is woven
N’GO joins Graphy-Océane and opens a new chapter. The brand keeps its deep connection with Vietnam and its founding commitments, while drawing on new textile and creative expertise to imagine what comes next.
